Direct Cremation / No Service Cremation
A Direct Cremation, otherwise known as a No Service Cremation, is a funeral service for those families who, for a variety of reasons, prefer to celebrate the life of the person who has passed in a less traditional manner. Some people hold a service at their home, local watering hole, or even a place they associate with the person who passed. Other people are simply pragmatic and don't see the need to publicly mourn, or publicly celebrate the life of the person no longer with us. Other families utilise a No Service, vis-a-vis, Direct Cremation, for reasons they don’t need to share with anyone, and that of course is fine. The point of this post is that if you are arranging a funeral, you should engage a Funeral Director to facilitate the type of service you and your family want, not what society dictates.
